I know people who I try to talk to and they’d rather do everything else but talk to me undistracted. Every time I talk to them, these people will reply to me with single sentences and boring courtesies. They do not share their personal thoughts with me unless I keep asking them. These people hurt me because I am frustrated trying to get to know them better and all my attempts are not reciprocated. I don’t like cold, superficial, self-absorbed people. They are not my friends.
And then, I have friends who I can share everything with – tears and laughter and everything else in between. We may not talk for days, months or even years, but we always come back together as if the time apart never existed. I am happy to say I know more than a handful of people that I can relate to at this amazing level. I find that the older I get, the even closer we all get.
And there are unexpected surprises along the way. People I didn’t think can fall into this amazing group of people. People who I’ve fought with endlessly years ago have become my closest and dearest allies.
I’m sure you all know who you are and I really love being your friend. Thank you for so many memories – old and new and those that are yet to be created.

My Little Girl
Ifa is so much like me -really indoorsy and loves a good smooch. She doesn’t hate us when we give her a bath. I think she realises she is the grubbiest cat on the street! She isn’t perfect though. It’s sad to admit that my little girl has a small drinking problem.
