This is a great beginner knitting project or if you’re like me, you just want something quick and rewarding to perk up your day. I can’t wait to wear these slippers around home during winter. I have a feeling I’ll be making more of them over the next few months.

I also love the beautiful embellishment that I bought in Arab Street (Singapore) many years ago. It really goes well with the red yarn.

Day 22: The more they looked around, the more confused they got. Chichi thought really hard to think of what her mum told her. After a long pause, she finally said:
“I think Mum told me once that those tall animals in the house actually cook eggs and eat them! Sorry Little One, but you’re not going to have any brothers and sisters around here.”

Day 23: Little One was very upset. He just couldn’t believe why the tall animals in the house would want to eat baby chickens. He desperately needed to destress. So the three of them hid in the big metal box and when the tall animals went out for a walk, they snuck out and enjoyed a calming view of the water.

Day 24: The three friends were playing hide and seek. Chichi was having a harder time finding places to hide compared to the other two and often ended up being ‘it’. She still had lots of fun finding them though! They’re pretty clever hiders.

Day 25: Chichi decided to take a nap. She is on holidays after all. The two boys played tag instead. Little One was getting very frustrated at Tink as he is just so quick and agile!

Day 26: Tink had a surprise for Little One. It was Little One’s first Australia Day so Tink got him a nice card and a holiday star. Little One was very happy!

Day 27: Little One finally introduced his new friends to Tux. They all clicked straightaway!

Day 28: “The best thing about living here is the beaustiful garden,” said Tux. They all agreed. They love going for walks through the giant leaves.

{ 0 comments }James, my brother-in-law, turned 24 today and Mum invited us over for lunch. And as usual, the two brothers goofed off. I just love their sense of humour!

And you can’t have a birthday without good food, especially homemade luminous green ones!

I chipped in and made almond agar dessert with fruit salad. I used a packet of agar mix and it was ready to eat in one hour! I didn’t used to like the strong flavour of almond agar but I really got into this!

I love the effect of entrelac on variegated yarn. This Quant pattern really shows off the colours beautifully.

Furthermore, I discovered after finishing the headband that it can also be used as a neckwarmer! It just keeps getting better!

We walked to the waterfront last night to check out the Australia Day celebrations and boy, were we glad we did! I had a really good time watching the live band perform and they really set the mood for the entire night.

This is a short video of the ’5 Lands Band’ who performed. They gave me goosebumps! They were THAT good! Such an electrifying performance!
Lantern-making classes were held all week and the handmade lanterns were proudly marched down Brickwharf Road. Such a beautiful display of creativity!

And of course, the fireworks!
