Sit… Buzz… Sit…

Richard’s dad gave me a chair which was just screaming for a makeover. I wanted another seat in our living room but I wanted it to be different.
Boring Colonial Chair
So after a bit of thinking and a few ideas discussed with the hubby, I came up with this unusual chair which is understated yet very quirky! Perfect! I used leftover sample paints and cut-out pictures from an old, rescued library book on insects. And Richard’s dad provided the varnish. Didn’t spend a cent!

The Buzz chair has now gone on “Salihan’s Wall” in the living room – a wall with only my creations on it. Above the new addition I have two stenciled artwork, one of which I turned into a clock when we moved into this new place. Subtle, discreet and effective.

I’ve got 2 more chairs identical to this one that will need restoration and they are destined for the front patio. Thinking caps on!

Thanks Melody! I am still learning to paint and restore furniture from the hubby who worked at a furniture factory yearsss ago. I’ll be happy to pass on some tips to get you started. You will be amazed what a good sand and a fresh coat of paint can do!

Btw, I’ve got 2 more chairs to restore. Maybe we can craft along?
