Retro Knits

I went to a car boot sale last weekend. I love going to them cos you just never know what you’ll find there. I stumbled upon these old knitting books under a pile of books that were sitting on a milk crate. I bought them for a $1 each without even flicking through them first. I thought since they were so cheap, I could use them to get ideas.
Retro Knitting Books

Little did I know how much pleasure I was going to get out of them. I flicked through them on the way to a friend’s place and we had the best laugh in ages! There were some real beauties in them and it felt like we were in a Mastercard ad – $5 for retro books, the laughs you get from the photos, PRICELESS!

These are my favourites from each book. All I can say is that “What were they thinking!?”

Warning: These photos may cause uncontrollable fits of laughter!

Ha ha ha, I was smiling by the way. I love the last two sweaters.
    Thanks for sharing this Saliha.
    Btw, how’s your arm? Better?

I’m glad you liked them. 🙂

Thanks so much for your concern, S. My arm is much better now. It still hurts when I do certain movements repeatedly like when I handsew for too long or carry heavy stuff. I will rest for a whole month and maybe start a little knitting then. I’m itching to start again!

Haha… How bad is that girl’s expression! I cannot imagine what the photographer would have said to her to make that face!

Anyway, I injured my elbow from knitting too much! My osteopath says I have golfer’s and tennis elbow. When I start knitting again, I’m determined to do it ergonomically. No slouching over pointy needles that are ‘flying’ everywhere! I want to be able to knit till a ripe old age. 30 is far too young to stop, don’t you think? 😉
